I mentioned, a couple of years back, that I sometimes think that Mother
Nature has no maternal instinct, or words to that general effect. Just when
we are ready for Spring, we have this white stuff thrown in. So, of course,
we have to plow it. The SD45 was caught, headed south with the "logger". The
engineer is happy to make it into North Kalum Yard as the locomotive plow is
handling the challenge, but only just. |
The following day, 9160, in charge of the plow cut, sits idling at Dees
Junction, having picked up a string of coal loads to take south and make the
run "revenue-positive". |

CP Rail seems to be doing well with container traffic. Must be time for
Skeena Pacific to get in on the action. So we established a container
terminal in Prince Rupert, 3 days closer to the Orient than Vancouver. Now
we can take COFC's via Prince George and Edmonton into Chicago about 4
days faster than most others. It did require a bit of re-engineering,
though. |

A "slight delay" for double-stacks is encountered when it was discovered
that parts of the Edziza Tunnel needed "adaptation" (can you say "Jig Saw"). |
In an amazing 4 days (scale time, about 8 hours real time) the entire Edziza
tunnel, the new Tahltan Bridge and a couple of lesser feats of
re-engineering result in through traffic of double stacked containers.
Just remember, when you build your empire, load heights and widths can
change . And the like the waistline, that usually means larger. Clearance is
a necessary evil, Clarence.

Speaking of building empires, I was lucky enough to find a track
planning software program that had been mentioned on the
Aristocraft Forum site. So I
thought I should try to graphically explain my garden layout.
