With Meziadin dealt with, at least temporarily, traffic, under
slow orders, moved steadily. At left, "9160" South, with the plow
still on point, eases across the viaduct to clear the waiting
northbound tourist train headed by #3. The tourist run has
proven popular with knowledgeable railfans. With a consist of
coaches originally built for the 5'3'' gauge of an Indian Majaraja
and the 1918 Porter 0-4-0, it is a unique operation. |
Attention was then turned to Dee's Junction, where loading
facilities and an interchange to the Alaska Railroad was needed. The
track was laid down and site for a future station established. |
